“WRIGLEYVILLE — The fourth year of offseason renovations to Wrigley Field, known as the “1060 Project,” has begun in the wake of the Cubs losing in the National League Championship Series to the L.A. Dodgers.

Preparations to begin construction on the ballpark side of the 1060 Project accelerated in the days following the loss.

Work will continue on the Cubs’ new American Airlines 1914 Club behind home plate, slated to debut on Opening Day 2018, as well as construction of the three additional premier clubs, expanded concessions and structural improvements in the main concourse.

Temporary fences have been installed around the perimeters of the ballpark, closing walkways on the west side of Sheffield Avenue and on the south side of Waveland Avenue.”
