Ash Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

Looking to start Lent close to home? Our Lady of Mount Carmel is offering multiple Ash Wednesday services on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, making it easy to pop in before work, on your lunch break, or in the evening. Choose from a 7:45 AM Mass, 12:00 PM Liturgy of the Word (no communion), 5:30 PM Liturgy of the Word (no communion), or a 6:30 PM Mass featuring the Choir of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Quiet, meaningful, and right in the neighborhood.

Ash Wednesday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

Ash Wednesday is February 18, and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is offering two easy, welcoming ways to begin the season of Lent. If mornings are your thing, stop by for Imposition of Ashes on the front steps of the church between 7:30–9:00 AM. Prefer an evening option? Head inside for the 6:30 PM Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes. Simple, meaningful, and right in the heart of the neighborhood.

Ash Wednesday at Broadway United Methodist Church

Broadway United Methodist Church is hosting an Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, February 18 from 7:00–8:30 PM. The service will take place in Room 203 and will also be available online, making it a great option whether you’re heading out or staying cozy at home. A thoughtful, accessible way to mark the beginning of Lent.

Ash Wednesday at Lake View Presbyterian Church

Lake View Presbyterian Church invites neighbors to mark the beginning of Lent together on Ash Wednesday, February 18. Pastor Ashley will offer ashes and blessings at the Broadway entrance from 8:00–11:00 AM, and the community will gather again for worship in the sanctuary at 7:00 PM.

Throughout Lent, the church’s fence will become a “Fence of Heartbreak,” a public prayer and act of solidarity. Neighbors are invited to write what is breaking their heart on a piece of cloth and tie it to the fence, naming care for those who are detained, families who are separated, and a world that struggles to love its neighbors.

Ash Wednesday at LakeView Lutheran Church

LakeView Lutheran Church will mark the beginning of Lent with an Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, February 18 from 7:00–8:00 PM at Lakeview Landing (835 W. Addison). The service includes the distribution of ashes and offers a simple, reflective way to pause, breathe, and step into the season.

Resurrection Lutheran Church is offering Ashes To Go on Ash Wednesday, February 18 for neighbors on the move. Stop by between 7:30–9:00 AM or 12:00–1:00 PM to receive ashes and a brief blessing. A simple, meaningful pause in the middle of a busy day.

Lenten Sermon Series at Broadway United Methodist Church

In addition to their Ash Wednesday service, Broadway United Methodist Church is hosting a 2026 Lenten Sermon Series titled “Tell Me Something Good: Grounding Ourselves in the Good News This Lent.” The series explores the foundational themes of Jesus’ life and ministry, centering love of neighbor, justice, mercy, care for the vulnerable, and God’s enduring grace.

The series begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18 at 6:00 PM at Holy Covenant Church (925 W. Diversey) and continues weekly through Lent, including Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter.
Sunday services take place at 11:00 AM, with evening services at 7:00 PM.
Easter services will be held at 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
