Little Monster’s Crawl
Saturday, October 31 from 11 am to 2 pm
Lakeview East beware, on Halloween the neighborhood will be full of little monsters demanding candy! From 11 am to 2 pm our businesses will be giving out treats and candy for a neighborhood wide trick-or-treat. Go from business to business and collect as much as you can carry!
Giver’s Gift
November 1st – December 23rd
Love shopping local? Show us the receipts. The Lakeview East Giver’s Gift Promotion is back for its 30th year and it’s bigger than ever! When you shop at local Lakeview East businesses this holiday season, you can earn a $50 Lakeview East Gift Card just for supporting your neighborhood. It’s pretty simple, you just have to follow these steps.
-Shop local between November 1 – December 23.
-Collect receipts from at least 3 different businesses in Lakeview East.
-Each receipt must be over $25 (BEFORE TAX AND TIP)!
-Collect $300 worth of receipts
-Fill out the form on our website
-Email your receipts, or bring them into our office.
-All of that, and you will receive your $50 LVE Giftcard!
Before submitting your receipts and form, please check the webpage below for a list of rules on what is eligible. For example, there is a $100 cap on grocery and liquor, and we do not accept gym memberships or prescriptions. Happy shopping!
Holiday Tree Lighting
November 18th, 5:30 pm at Clark Street Dog
It’s lit! Well, it will be! On Wednesday, November 18th, we are hosting our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at Clark Street Dog. Because what’s more Chicago than to get ready for the holidays then a tree lighting ceremony at a hot dog joint? This family-fun wholesome event will have photos with Santa, cookies, hot cocoa, carolers, costume characters, and more. Come on out, and have some holiday fun with us! No need to RSVP- just come on in.
Lakeview East Shoppers Extravaganza & Holiday Treat Stroll
Saturday, December 5 | 11 AM–3 PM
The most festive shopping day of the year is back in Lakeview East! Spend the afternoon shopping local, scoring holiday deals, and snacking your way through the neighborhood during our Shoppers Extravaganza & Holiday Treat Stroll.
Participating businesses throughout Lakeview East will be welcoming shoppers with complimentary cookies, cocoa, sweets, savory bites, samples, and other seasonal treats, turning the neighborhood into one big holiday stroll. Think of it as part shopping spree, part progressive dessert crawl, and a very good excuse to spend the afternoon exploring your favorite local businesses.
And yes, the Lakeview East Gift Card Sale is back too! For one day only, shoppers can score 25% off Lakeview East Gift Cards, accepted at more than 200 neighborhood businesses. Purchases are limited to $500 per household.
Food Safety & Sanitation Manager Certification
Join us at the Center on Halsted for a Food Safety & Sanitation Manager Certification class hosted by the Safe Dining Association. This one-day, 8-hour course includes instruction and the certification exam, giving food service professionals the knowledge and credentials needed to safely oversee food storage, preparation, and service. The class is fully accredited by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Chicago Department of Public Health, Prometric, and ServSafe, and upon passing, participants will be certified in Illinois and eligible to apply for City of Chicago certification. All certifications are valid for five years. Select your preferred date to register.
Lakeview East Chamber Annual Holiday Party
We made it through another year. That feels like a pretty good reason to celebrate.
Join the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce for our Annual Holiday Party at Level Sporting Club on Monday, December 15 from 6–8 PM!
We’re getting everyone out from behind the counter, away from the inbox, and into one room for a night of bites, cocktails, live music, mingling, and plenty of holiday cheer.
Come catch up with fellow Lakeview East and Wrigleyville business owners, neighbors, staff, and friends. Talk shop, don’t talk shop, celebrate the wins, laugh about the chaos, and enjoy being somewhere other than work for a minute.
