The 2019 Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is right around the corner! Celebrating our 15th anniversary, we are pulling out the big stops. With over 150 artists, performers, chefs, and activities, everyone will find something that fits their style. Marking the unofficial end of summer, this fest gracefully transitions us to fall and celebrates the talent and efforts of everyone in our community. There’s a reason we are considered the most unique and popular art festival in Chicagoland!
ARTISTS
Over 150 juried artists will come together on Broadway to exhibit art forms of all media– watercolor, oil paints, photography, jewelry, pottery, woodworking, even handmade pens! Whether you’re visiting to browse or to purchase, you’ll see a huge variety of works.

LAKEVIEW SUPPER CLUB DEMO AREA
This year introduced the Lakeview Supper Club to the neighborhood, and we’re bringing it to the Fest! Get an inside look into some of the most beloved Lakeview East restaurants. See local and celebrity chefs give live cooking demonstrations and wine tastings. Special guests include Alpana Singh, host of Check, Please!, Rachel Speckan from Maverick Wine Company, Bobby Parrish of FlavCity, and local chefs from Wrigley BBQ, Maddon’s Post, Bar Pastoral, El Mariachi, Get in the Kitchen, and Drew’s on Halsted. Cooking is the tastiest art!

MUSIC STAGES
What’s a street festival without live music? With two stages and live music going all day, listen to some tunes while perusing the art. Grab a drink and a snack and relax while jamming out to some local bands. Music will go until 10pm on Saturday, so stick around for some great performances! From neighborhood favorites like The Bama Lamas and Rod Tuffcurls & The Bench Press, to upcoming bands like Holly and Spare Parts, they’ll provide the perfect soundtrack to our festival.

CHILDREN’S AREA
We’ve thought of entertainment for the whole family! Your little ones will have a blast making crafts, playing games, and watching performances scheduled just for them. Performers include Off the Ground Dance Studio, Storytown Improv, Puppet Possibilities, and many other local gems that cater to children. Take a break from exploring fine art and allow your children to let off some steam!

GARDEN
Patch Landscaping will create an interactive garden oasis this year at the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. The Garden brings an element of surprise every year to the intersection of Hawthorne and Broadway. This year’s theme will be revealed as the show opens up on Saturday the 14th, but we promise it’s a great one!
FOOD/DRINK
Sponsored by Dry Hop and Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine, be sure to grab a beer or wine while exploring the festival. Dry Hop brews all of their beer here right here on Broadway, and Pastoral got their start right here on Broadway 15 years ago. We are so fortunate to have so many successful independent businesses in in the neighborhood.
Don’t miss out on this unique art festival September 14th-15th! We put together a talented group of local, national, international artists, local vendors, and chefs for you to relish in the gifts of our community. If you are interested in volunteering for this year’s festival, please visit this site to see how you can help.
