Lakeview East Craft Beer Week Kicks Off Next Week!

With the cancellation of this year’s statewide Craft Beer Week due to Covid-19, we are excited to introduce our take on the celebratory week!

Craft Beer Week will take place Monday, May 17 through Sunday, May 23 and will feature tap takeovers, meet the brewery events, special taps of limited craft beers, giveaways and more! Located at various breweries, bars and restaurants within Lakeview East, the entire week is jam packed with exciting events.

Kicking off on Monday, May 17 at 5:00pm at Dryhop Brewery located at 3155 N. Broadway, guests can enjoy a delicious collaboration beer with Eris Brewing! The Kentucky Common Style ale is sometimes referred to as a “Cream Ale” and makes an excellent alternative from more hop heavy beers for the Summer season. In celebration of their Anniversary, Dryhop Brewery will also be releasing an oatmeal cream pie flavored IPA and is also partnering with Hope for the Day, a Chicago based suicide prevention non-profit, to release a limited-edition beer to contribute to the cause.

On Wednesday, May 19 at 6:30pm, join us at Greenstar Brewing, 3800 N. Clark, for the official Craft Beer Week Happy Hour. The first 20-25 guests showing proof of vaccination will receive their first round on the Chamber! Greenstar will be tapping a variety of very limited special releases such as ‘Zero Zero UFO,’ ‘ZCF Pilzner,’ and ‘Tequila Uprise.’

Closing out the event will be a Sunday Funday on May 23 starting at 3pm at the famous Lucky Dorr Patio & Tap located in Wrigleyville at 1101 N. Waveland. Maplewood Tap will be doing a full tap takeover with all the favorites for guests to enjoy.

Sheffield’s Chicago, 3258 N. Sheffield, will be hosting three nights of “Meet the Brewery” events with the Chicago favorites of Goose Island, Spiteful Brewery, and Surly Brewing. Visit them on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday of Craft Beer Week to try out some their limited release craft beers and get some fun giveaways.

Our Business Development Manager, Joel Feinberg, said, “ With the cancellation of Craft Beer Week nationally and statewide, we’re not only excited to be celebrating our take on the event, we’re also so happy to be able to support our local breweries, bars and restaurants coming out of a year of hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The Chamber will be holding a raffle giveaway with prizes such as T-shirts, Lakeview East Gift Cards, and more at all three of the events throughout. We are sure to have something for everyone’s taste and hope to see you there!
