Bring out the beads, boas, and all the feathers! It’s time for Mardi Gras! Fat Tuesday is on February 21st this year, however, that isn’t preventing Lakeview East from celebrating all month long.
Houndstooth Goes All Out All Month
Houndstooth Saloon has so many events going on in February you’ll feel like you’re at the heart of Bourbon Street.
Burlesque Drag Brunch, February 4th
Make some pour decisions at Houndstooth with hosts Xo Carrington and Platinum Carrington Hunter! The girls are back and are ready to perform burlesque style! Joining them this round are Dusty Bahls, Livana & Valerie Valentine, with live music from DJ Stasney. Bring your boas, and great attitude, and get ready to party bright and early at 11 am.

Mask Making, February 7th
Let your creative side run wild! Pick a mask from French Korner’s collection and use glitter, paint, feathers, and gems to personalize it ahead of the Masquerade Ball or just for fun!
Enjoy half-priced bottles of wine all night and create a masterpiece.
It starts at 6 pm and registration is not necessary in advance.
Masquerade Ball, February 11th
There aren’t many events you can wear a mask to, however, the masquerade ball is a fantastic exception. Bring out your most decorated mask, and enjoy southern-inspired bites for an authentic Mardi Gras celebration. Mask wearers will receive a free glass of champagne!
The party starts at 7 pm, no reservations are necessary.
Fat Tuesday Celebration, February 22nd
Celebrate Fat Tuesday with dancing, live music, and of course traditional eats! Houndstooth is ready to party all Tuesday night long. The fun starts at 6 pm!
NOLA Bar + Kitchen
It’s in the name. NOLA celebrates Mardi Gras year-round, so come February the celebrations are extraordinary!
If you can’t make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, the next best celebration is at NOLA Chicago! On Fat Tuesday, enjoy Cajun eats and live music. Sip on a hurricane and enjoy the New Orleans inspired deco that covers every square inch of the space!
Old Crow Mardi Gras Day Party, February 18th
No need to travel all the way to NOLA to get that Mardi Gras experience. Join in on the fun as Old Crow Smokehouse becomes Chicago’s version of Bourbon Street. Doing Mardi Gras the Chicago way! Let’s party!

Carinvale 3 Mardi Gras Celebration, February 18th
Celebrate Mardi Gras at Sidetrack this year! On Saturday, February 18th, Sidetrack is hosting CARNIVAL 3 which is essentially an electric Mardi Gras party for the ages. With circus performers, live jazz bands, party favors, and fabulous decorations, this Carnival is one you can not miss. Tickets include entry and access to all entertainment, as well as two complimentary cocktails, and Cajun cuisine from J&L Catering. The party starts at 6 pm, and at 9 pm the Second Line Parade will begin on Halsted street, circling back to the Sidetrack courtyard! The fun never stops at Sidetrack.
Tickets will be $50 at the door or grab them in advance for $40. Tickets are available here.
Mardi Gras Interactive Cajun Feast
Get In The Kitchen is the party school of cooking classes! This Mardi Gras, they are hosting a Cajun Feast cooking class.
Part Cooking Class, part Sit Down Dinner, all amazing! Come celebrate Mardi Gras and sip on a complimentary Hurricane cocktail, cook an amazing Cajun Appetizer and sit down to a 3-course meal prepared by our Cajun chef, Allen Rochelle!!! We will also feature New Orleans Entertainment and will be playing Mardi Gras Bingo for beads! Also, Feel Free to BRING YOUR OWN BEADS to exchange with other party-goers!
Appetizer Cooking Class: Learn how to make Cajun Hush Puppies from scratch during our appetizer lesson!
