SWAY A Cannabis Dispensary 3340 N Halsted
Northalsted is now home to the newest dispensary in town. Welcome to SWAY, an LGBTQ+ and POC-owned dispensary that has taken over the location of the old Town Hall Pub. Co-owned by Art Johnston and Jose Pepe Peña of Sidetrack, cannabis equity advocate Edie Moore, and entrepreneur Kevin Hauswirth, they have one clear vision for SWAY. “We’re a community that doesn’t wait around for spaces to be created for us. We kick the doors down ourselves. Good thing we always wear our door-kicking shoes. SWAY is a come-as-you-are, come-as-you’ve-always-wanted-to-be kind of place. SWAY is for the neighborhood, for the visitors, for the first-timers, and the every dayers. This is our continuation of a long history of our communities fighting for cannabis equity and the right to love freely. SWAY is working to keep queer enclaves queer and more reflective of the world we want to live in. So, if you’re into it… you’re welcome. Oh, and we sell weed. Bonci Pizza 3151 N Broadway
We hope you’re hungry! The much-anticipated Bonci Pizza has just opened its doors in Lakeview East, right on Broadway Street. What is Bonci? It’s Roman-style Pizza al Taglio! A variety of one-of-a-kind pizzas created to excite and entice. The lineup changes frequently throughout the day based on the availability of locally sourced ingredients. There are always vegetarian options available! They also sell homemade Suppli, which are Roman-inspired rice and pasta balls stuffed with cheeses and meats. Bonci’s slogan is “Simply Delicious, Deliciously Simple.” Bonci is not served the way we are used to, so fortunately, they provide step-by-step instructions on How to Bonci:
Step 1: Pick Your Pizza(s)
In front of you is a beautiful array of anywhere from 12 to 15 pizzas, which includes our mainstays — like the exquisitely simple Margherita — along with new creations — like pumpkin, speck, and caciocavallo — that rotate in throughout the day. Your friendly counter person will guide you through each pizza, answer your questions along the way and help you with your selections.
Step 2: Your Pizza Weigh In
Once selected, your counter person will then weigh the items selected and give you a printed ticket. While your pizza gets the final Bonci touch, select your beverage and take your ticket to the register. (Not doing pizza? No problem. Your server will help you select the perfect suppli for your appetite.)
Step 3: Savor the Flavor
Pick up your eagerly anticipated pizza, suppli and … Enjoy!

The Catcade 624 W Belmont
No, you’re not experiencing deja vu. The Catcade has been open for over six years in Lakeview Roscoe Village, and their new home is right here in Lakeview East! The Catcade is a non-profit, arcade-themed cat rescue lounge, and their version of a cat café. The lounge simulates a home environment. Cats are not kept in cages; instead, they get to live in a 950 square foot lounge where guests can pay $20 to visit the lounge and spend time playing, cuddling, and socializing with the rescue cats. All of our cats are adoptable, except Leo, the resident cat. “The Catcade was started in 2017 by fellow cat lovers, Chris Gutierrez and Shelly Casey. They had one mission in mind when creating their concept, and that was their love of felines and the need to ‘save more cats.’ After discussing the idea of starting a cat café for years, one night while watching bad reality TV, the pair came up with The Catcade concept. In January of 2017, they officially created their non-profit and began fundraising and looking for a location. On August 19, 2017, they opened the doors to The Catcade at 1235 W Belmont Ave in Chicago.
