Remembering Todd Mack: Beloved Member of Lakeview East & Foursided Owner

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Todd Mack, the visionary and owner behind Foursided. It’s hard to put into words what Todd Mack meant to the Lakeview East community. He wasn’t just a business owner or a leader, he was a cornerstone of our neighborhood and friend of the Lakeview East Chamber. Todd’s creativity, kindness, and commitment touched so many lives, and his impact will be felt for years to come.

In 2002, Todd opened FOURSIDED, his first frame shop, right here on Broadway in Lakeview East. What started as a small shop quickly became a beloved part of the community. Todd poured his heart and soul into everything he did, and FOURSIDED grew into something truly special—a collection of five shops across Chicago that celebrate art, creativity, and connection. Todd’s talent for design didn’t go unnoticed either; his award-winning storefront windows were the kind of displays that made you stop in your tracks.

But Todd wasn’t just about running a business. He cared deeply about Lakeview East and the people who call it home. From 2004 to 2012, he served on the board for the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce, including a term as President from 2009 to 2010. Todd was always thinking about how to make the neighborhood better—how to support local businesses, improve the commercial district, and create opportunities for others to succeed.

One of Todd’s lasting legacies is the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. As a founding member, he helped turn it into one of the best art festivals in the Midwest. Todd believed in the power of art to bring people together, and the festival stands as a beautiful reflection of his vision and dedication.

What really set Todd apart was how much he cared. He wasn’t just a business owner—he was a neighbor, a mentor, and a friend. He loved this neighborhood and worked tirelessly to make it a place where people felt welcome and connected. Whether you were visiting for the first time or had lived here for years, Todd had a way of making you feel like you belonged. Todd is survived by his longtime husband and business partner Gino.

A memorial service will be held on January 26th from 12PM to 4PM at Artifact Events at 4325 N. Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 6065. The service is from 1-2PM followed by light bites and refreshments from 2PM-4PM. Donations can be made to the Chicago Diabetes Project in Todd’s honor.

Todd Mack’s passing is a huge loss for Lakeview East, and his legacy will live on. He helped shape this neighborhood into the vibrant, creative, and connected community we all love. Thank you, Todd, for everything you gave us. You will be deeply missed and your spirit will always be a part of Lakeview East.
