Bring the Kids to See Winnie The Pooh Live

Treat the kids to a show as sweet as honey! Disney’s iconic Winnie the Pooh takes the stage at The Mercury Theater. See all your favorite characters come to life, Tiger, Piglet, Eeyore, and of course Christopher Robin. This musical adventure is fun for the whole family. “Featuring the Sherman Brothers’ classic Grammy Award-winning music with further songs by A.A. Milne, this beautiful fresh stage adaptation is told with stunning life-sized puppetry through the eyes of the characters we all know and love, in a new story from the Hundred Acre Wood.” The show is running from March 15 – to June 12th, 2022.

The Laugh Factory Weekend Assemble is Sure to Entertain

If the rainy weather has been bringing you down, we have the perfect way to lift your spirits. The Laugh Factory has been bringing joy to the community since 2011. They have shows seven nights a week, and the weekend shows never disappoint. Here is some weekend highlight shows happening, but be sure to visit the Laugh Factory website to see the full list of weekend performances.
We all have a dating history we may not necessarily be proud of. On Friday night, attend Drink! Date! Laugh! “A showcase/game show that engages the audience by exploring their dating history and love lives. Short questionnaires are given out before the show (all in good fun) that the team uses to briefly interview selected crowd members (seriously, all in good fun). At the end of the show, three lucky audience members are picked to participate in a live game show to win a $50 gift certificate to a local spot.” Drink! Date! Laugh! Is a fun and innocent way to poke some fun at the complicated world of dating. Hear some date night horror stories, rejections that cause secondhand embarrassment, or a love story for the ages. Who knows, YOU might be chosen to air your dirty laundry in front of a live audience (if you dare). The show kicks off at 7:30 pm.

On Sunday Night, Chicago comedian Lavar Walker will be performing. Lavar Walker was born and raised in Chicago and has become a well-known comedian. If you’ve been watching Amy Schumer’s new Hulu show Life and Beth you may recognize Walker, as he plays the pharmacist! Perhaps you’ve seen him in Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam – Atlanta back in 2013. He also started in the Netflix comedy Sneakerheads in the first season that aired in 2020.
Chicagoans now have the chance to see Walker live. “Working alongside the best comedians in the world Lavar has been destroying stages all across the country for the past 10 years, and Chicago is UP NEXT! Hosted by Em Brown and featuring Tony T this will be one of the TOP COMEDY SHOW OF THE WEEKEND!” The show begins at 7 pm.

Bring Your Furry Best Friend to Dog Day Afternoon
3349 N. Halsted Ave
The ultimate playdate for pups! Every event is better when there are dogs involved. This dog-friendly event is a fun way to meet new people (and pups) and a great excuse to have a drink during the day. Sidetrack just rolled out their new spring cocktail menu just in time. Try The Wicked, made with Effen Black Cherry Vodka, Sprite, a splash of Midori Melon Liqueur, with a cherry, or Watermelon Sugar High, made with Grey Goose Essences Watermelon & Basil Vodka, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Red Bull Red Edition (Watermelon), and lemon. Attendees can also pose in the new photo colorful photo corner. The event is going on from 1 – 5 pm. Can’t make it? The next pup playdate will take place May 7th.

Rock Tribute Night at The Cubby Bear

Let the Led out this weekend. On Friday night, Led Zeppelin Tribute Band Kashmir is hitting the stage at Cubby Bear. We know you know all the lyrics to Ramble On and Stairway to Heaven so sing along with one of the most beloved Zeppelin tribute bands. Hell Patrol will also be rocking the stage Friday night. They are Chicago’s new tribute band to Heavy Metal Legends Judas Priest. They’ll be sure to perform with All Guns Blazing!
Live music starts at 8 pm and goes on until Midnight. It’ll be an evening filled with A Whole Lotta Love.

Brunch Buffet and Bottomless Mimosas at Brickhouse Tavern

Whether brunch is how you recover from the weekend, or it’s how you get your weekend shenanigans started, Brickhouse Tavern has a hard to beat brunch deal going on every Saturday and Sunday. Get down at Chicago’s favorite basement nightclub. Friday night, Smart Bar is going to be taken over by Chicago DJs. The lineup begins with Zernell, whose style has been described as, “The heart of disco to the soul of Chicago house music with a grimy twist. By taking rare disco classics and stripping them down and rebuilding them to a beating perfection” by Resident Advisor Magazine. Also playing Friday is Duane Powell, who’s been heavily involved in the Chicago music scene for the majority of his life. “Duane’s choice of music genres include Soul, Jazz House, Acid Jazz, Nu Grooves, Broken Beat, Bossanova and Afro Rhythms.” Lastly, Tim Zawada will take the stage, whose a DJ, record producer and label owner. Don’t miss out on a night full of fresh Chicago beats. The show starts at 10 pm, see you down there!

Last Week of the Madness
As the college basketball season comes to a close, we want to make sure you enjoy every last second of March Madness. To make it easy for you, we compiled a list of all the March Madness specials going on and urge you to take advantage of them. Watch the game live with a crowd as enthusiastic as you are. For those looking for something a little less mainstream, The Underground Lounge is the place to be. On Saturday night, DJ VeganInBlack will be spinning 80s and 90s remixed synthwave. There will also be live visual artists, like Erika Danielle ,“Hexx Girl” and Elena Disabato. Attendees can also buy and browse artwork being sold by the artists. The Underground Lounge has been a live music and DJ-oriented bar in Chicago for over 20 years and always has great local artists. Dance, drink, and buy some art this weekend.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Viewing Party: Bingo Edition

Every Friday night, Replay hosts a viewing party for Season 14 of Rupauls Drag Race. During the episode, play a live game of bingo! Join host Sapphire Feliciano, and play Drag Phrase Bingo throughout the episode to win prizes from Replay and their featured sponsors!
