A New Musical Comes to Town

The Mercury Theater

3745 N Southport Ave

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a jukebox musical with a book by Australian film director-writer Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, using well-known pop songs as its score. Adapted from Elliott’s 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the musical tells the story of two drag queens and a trans woman, who contract to perform a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs, a resort town in the remote Australian desert. As they head west from Sydney aboard their lavender bus, Priscilla, the three friends come to the forefront of a comedy of errors, encountering a number of strange characters, as well as incidents of homophobia, while widening comfort zones and finding new horizons.

Flight Facilities Forever Tour

The Vic Theatre

3145 N Sheffield

Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities came from down under to present their Forever tour in The States. This Friday night, catch them at The Vic Theatre for their Chicago show! The pair has spent the majority of their careers bucking trends in electronic music, consistently and reliably favoring the timelessness of a well-crafted song. Having racked up over half a billion streams globally, it’s clearly an approach that works.

Doors open at 8 pm and the music starts at 9 pm! Tickets are still available for just $25.
