Kentucky Derby Parties 2022

Hold your horses! Or in this case… release them? This weekend, America will come together to watch the nation’s most famous race, The Kentucky Derby! Saturday is the 148th Annual Derby, and Chicagoans are excited to drink mint juleps, cheer for their lucky number, and celebrate in their best Derby attire. Here is a list of some parties going on in the area.

The Graystone Tavern

For the big race, The Graystone Tavern in Wrigleyville (3441 N Sheffield) will celebrate with a viewing party and a Win, Place & Show raffle with free entry and a variety of prizes. Guests will enjoy themed specials like a $12 Kentucky Hot Brown Turkey Burger, $8 Woodford Reserve Mint Julep, and $8 Woodford Strawberry Iced Tea. Graystone’s beer garden is the perfect place to celebrate, with HD TVs and a great sound system, there are no bad seats in the house.

Kirkwood Bar and Grill

Kirkwood Bar and Grill (2934 N. Sheffield) invites you to come celebrate the Derby with them! Drink specials for the day include $8 Old Forester Mint Juleps and $25 Bud Light and Miller Light Buckets. Help yourself to some of their delicious menu items, like their Buffalo wonton rolls, Spicy crispy chicken sandwich, or the beyond burger for all the veg-heads.

Starting bright and early at 11am, The River (2909 N. Sheffield) wants you to come join their viewing party. Drink specials for the event include $8 Mint Juleps and $5 Blue Moons! Their full menu will be available as well, their seafood gumbo is the perfect entrée to indulge in during the Derby.

Sheffield’s Beer Garden

Sheffield’s (3258 N. Sheffield) is also joining in on The Derby fun! Drink specials for the day include Mint Juleps and Bourbon Smashes for $12. During May, Sheffield’s Brewery of the Month is Chicago’s own Lagunitas! All Lagunitas featured drafts are $6.

Big City (1010 W. Belmont) had so much fun on Cinco De Mayo, that they decided to roll over their specials for the Derby on Saturday!

Induldge in non traditional Derby fare! Specials include $12 Casamigos Margaritas, $8 Casamigos Palomas, $4 Modelo Pints, $15 Corona buckets, $2 tacos and $8 quesadillas.
